Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She worked later as a morning news anchor for WCBD TV and was a crime reporter. O'Dell's stories in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance regarding DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to examine. This led to state authorities issuing more strict rules in these instances. Ms. O'Dell was awarded the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. Following her stint living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative journalist. After that, she became a part of Access Hollywood to work as an anchor on weekends and weekdays. In addition, she serves as an anchor on Dateline NBC and NBC News Today.
